Adam Lambert!

So we all know that I'm not exactly an active blogger and twitterer, but today I tweeted like crazy to get Adam Lambert to the top of trending topics, and my efforts paid off!

But sadly it only stayed as the top trending topic for maybe about half an hour or so =\ At least Adam remained in the trending topics for quite some time :D My friends were dumbfounded when they opened their twitter homepage and realised that it's flooded with all my twats XP (twats : Adam's term for lame, boring tweets)

And I gained about 11 followers in a day just by twating non-stop hahaha XD Found some fellow Glamberts as well :) Okay I think I'm going to stop here (Yes pathetically short post but I've been twating for the whole day and it's almost as good as blogging).

If you're interested follow me on Twitter @hisora :D Be warned that I have a steady stream of Adam posts though >3

Note : Adam made it to the trending topics because of his dope performance in Tampa, and apparently someone stalked him. Mainly because of his performance I suppose ♥

Finally an update.

Good grief I realised that I haven't been blogging for more than a week. I'm going back to those "dark ol' days" rofl. But the fact remains that my life has been so helplessly mundane that I have nothing to blog about. So here I am, posting about my KL trip 2 weeks ago which I held off for so long.

I took the 10.30am bus to KL with my mom, and this Indian woman was talking non-stop behind us! Imagine! From Butterworth to KL! On the phone, to her partner, yak yak yak non-stop. Thank goodness for MP3 players! (well, actually in my case it was my PSP but it's practically the same thing <3) My mom complained to me regularly though haha. We reached KL at about 4.00pm because the buses aren't allowed to go fast any more... Once there we took a LRT from Pudu to KLCC while waiting for my aunt to pick us up at Kerinchi station in the evening. KLCC, my FAVOURITE mall in Malaysia just because of KINOKUNIYA~! I swear all my moolah flows straight there =_= Mom told me to not dawdle and just choose the books that I want...hrm...ah well I'm not complaining, my dad actually told me NOT to go there (cause he knows I spend a bomb there =\)

I bought the July issue of Fool's Mate and Arena 37C, both featuring Gackt-sama XDDD He is the most beautiful man on earth...to me! Hey hey I know you have your own opinions! I was also contemplating whether or not I should buy Kuroshitsuji's TV animation 'Black Record' which costs RM104.40 (ouch). But then I remembered that I have my Daruma card, offering 28% off any book, which means I'll be able to buy it for RM75.20! So off the shelf it goes straight into my paper bag :D My purchases totaled to almost RM200 though... told you I spend a bomb there x_x Next, we went to grab a bite, and what better timing that to try out them sandwiches at Subway (no I have never eaten there prior) I enjoyed my meal, and also the soft chocolate-chip cookies :D After that, we went to Cold Storage (my favourite groceries store) where I FINALLY bought Pop Tarts (Geez I've been reading about them for the past ten years and I only get to try them NOW D:) and a bag of Cookie Monster cookies XD I'm now in love with Pop Tarts *__* Gotta get my supply when I head down to KL again next month haha.

The next day, I went to DaiCon (11th of July, held in MMU Cyberjaya) with Yumimi and Emily. I was pretty excited to go there, as the itinerary looked promising. However, I must say, I was slightly disappointed when I got there. The venue itself wasn't exactly strategic and rather hard to reach for non-KL-ites. The Doujin booths weren't exactly big in numbers, and you had to line up like mad to even view the KKnM stall (which I didn't do, seeing as how a mere cushion cover costs RM99.90...brr...) There weren't many cosplayers on the first day, I heard that more of them went on the second day. I didn't snap pictures of the cosplayers except for the Mario brothers (they were the most interesting ones to me of the day XD) and 3 Espadas. I forgot to snap a shot of Sebastian T_T Why oh why did I forget Sebastian T_T Apparently a group of people cosplaying Kuroshitsuji characters went on the second day... Sad :(

And the karaoke competition was... well, to put it nicely, like a failed audition of American Idol. There were some notable voices, don't get me wrong, but overall, yeah. (Why do I have the feeling that I'm gonna get bombarded by this statement? =_=) The solo cosplay competition was ruled by Mario and Dante (in my opinion, anyway. I still do NOT know who the winners are ._.) There was also a Maid Cafe to get food and drinks (duh), but as with the KKnM stall, you had to line up for a seat, so I didn't dine there (cause I wasn't feeling particularly hungry). At the end of the day I bought a Grell and Sebastian badge, and a few printings of Heise. I FRIGGIN REGRET NOT BUYING HER ARTBOOK DARN IT D: Oh please set up a booth in CF T_T Speaking of CF, the CF booth members announced that they were giving out free T-shirts in their booth, so I rushed there and managed to get one XD It's nice :D (Okay pics the next time. I haven't uploaded anything from my cam to my comp in ages o_O There. Sue me. *a ton of bills come crashing down on me* .__.)

Yumimi left rather early as she had to go to Church in the evening. Emily and I left after the cosplay competition, as Chihara Minori's Q&A session was up next. Since we didn't have tickets, there was not much point in us lingering around longer. We were... dreading the long walk down (It's a looooooooong way down from DaiCon's building to the main campus exit). We were sort of clueless as to the right way to the exit, so I asked a security guard for directions. I am forever pleased with my intuition (and lucky stars XP) because that nice pakcik (Malay term for 'uncle') offered to drive us to the exit, saving us a crapload of time and energy *__* Terima kasih banyak-banyak! (thank you very much) We then took a bus down to Putrajaya Central, and from there took another bus to Kelana jaya LRT station. Gosh on the way to Kelana Jaya the bus we were on had a minor accident where a car bumped into it ._. Freaky ._. But thank kami-sama we are safe ._.

We parted ways in Kelana Jaya - she boarded to LRT back to UM and I waited there for my uncle to pick me up. This is actually my first time taking public transportation (apart from a school bus, that doesn't count) alone with a friend, without my parents. Yes, yes, pathetic. But my dad is super over-protective -_- So yes I'm happy that I finally got a bit of freedom haha XD I kinda feel sorry for Yumimi who had to walk all the way down to the campus exit (but then again, why didn't she ask a security guard for directions? XP), take a cab to Putrajaya Central cause she couldn't wait for the bus, and then take an ERL to KL Central where she took an LRT back to UM. Ouch, think of how much that must've costed her =_=

And the next day, it was time to head back to Butterworth. My aunt brought us to 101 Mall before dropping us in Pudu though. I swear, I've been to 101 Mall for more times than I've been to Gurney Plaza or Queensbay Mall even though I'm supposed to be a Penang-ite =o= The new wing there has opened, but there still weren't that many shops haha. Ended up strolling in the old wing. All in all this trip was rather... bleak save for that wonderful time in KLCC lol. I didn't even make it to Times Square or Sungei Wang to check out the shops selling Harajuku-ish outfits T_T

Phew. Friggin long post. Will update with pics later on (hopefully >P)

Harry Potter and the Half-Blood Prince Movie

...turned out to be a TOTAL disaster. I went to the movies with my mom to catch the 11.45 a.m movie and regretted it. Please. To all ardent fans of the books, brace yourselves for a total nightmare. And this is obviously going to be a post full of spoilers so kindly do not read if you despise spoilers.

You have been warned.

Still want to read on? Please, by all means, be my guest.

START OF SPOILER-FILLED RANT.

Honestly. Barely ONE second into the movie and it has already deviated from the books. Now, if you've read the books, you'll realise that the first chapter consists of a meeting between two ministers - the Minister of Magic and the Prime Minister of the muggle world. Sadly, the movie didn't have that scene at all. In fact, we were not even introduced to Rufus Scrimgeour, the new Minister of Magic. Yes, Fudge was sacked in case you didn't know. We were instead treated to the scene where Harry was sitting in a muggle cafe reading 'The Daily Prophet' while a muggle girl starts chatting up to him. The he sees Dumbledore across the subway. Now, as you readers should know, Dumbledore went to Privet Drive where Harry was staying with the Dursleys to escort Harry to the Burrow. But noooo, the producers decided that the discussion of Sirius' will was too trifle. (Alright, alright, I admit. Compared to the rest of the story it IS pretty trifle but STILL! D:)

Anyway I shall skip over most of the main movie, or I'll take forever to upload this post. I shall just state the differences and my dissatisfaction with the main plot.

To be frank, I was rather looking forward to the scene in Madam Malkin's where Draco and the threesome were engaged in an argument. That scene was also not included. Alright, I thought to myself. Fair enough, seeing as how it wasn't really significant with the main story, (I can't believe I just typed that sentence out!) but when the threesome tailed Draco to Borgins and Burkes, Draco was ALONE, not with his mother. He tried so hard to shake free of her so that he could attend to his business ALONE. And we were not shown what he intended to purchase or repair in the book, but we were immediately notified that he was interested in the vanishing cabinet. That is probably one of the biggest deviations from the original storyline.

Yet another disappointment was the exclusion of the House of Gaunt. As you readers should know, this was one of the main plots of the whole story. For those who rely solely on the movie, I shall shed some light on this intriguing, yet sadly left out, chapter. This chapter focused on the memory of Bob Ogden who worked in the Ministry of Magic. He paid a visit to the House of Gaunt because Morfin Gaunt was believed to have attacked a muggle. Upon reaching, he was shocked to be held at knife and wand point by Morfin, and spoken to in Parseltongue. Morfin's father then appeared and conversed to Ogden in English. The two Gaunts showed signs of deepest loathing towards muggles and had some sort of violent streak in them. The father was an extremely proud character and relishes the fact that the Gaunts are the direct descendants of Salazar Slytherin. Merope, Morfin's sister, however, was assumed to be a squib as she couldn't perform decent magic, and was mistreated by both her father and brother. She was also infatuated with a handsome muggle, which drove her father really mad. It is later revealed that Merope is the Dark Lord's mother, and the handsome muggle, his father. The Dark Lord was named Tom, after his father, Marvolo after his grandfather, and his surname, Riddle. So there you have it. Who says this isn't an important plot?

The movie included a scene which was not found in the book, however. It was Christmas, and everyone were having fun in The Burrow (home of the Weasleys) when Death Eaters decided to appear and lure Harry out and set fire to The Burrow. Frankly, I don't see the point of this scene at all. They could've done away with these 5 minutes and put on the House of Gaunt instead! Honestly! *starts firing up again*

And I saw a scene that was TOTALLY wrong. So wrong, I don't even know how such a mistake could've occured. Alright, perhaps it's just me, perhaps it's because of the fact that I'm a highly meticulous person who pays attention to the tiniest details towards things that I like (I doubt anyone even noticed this error), but really, I never thought that a day would come where Slytherins and Gryffindors were on talking terms, let alone joke around with each other, sharing food. It was a scene in the Great Hall where Harry was chatting with Hermione (at least, I think it was Hermione, can't really recall) during breakfast. Those two students were in the background, and I suppose they forgot what house robes they were wearing, but they were chatting with each other cosily. I didn't know whether to laugh at the mere thought of a Slytherin and a Gryffindor being friendly with each other, or bury my head in my hands in shame and disappointment.

Right. Those were the main things that I just had to get out of my system. Of course, there were tons of things I'd like to rant and critic about, but I'm seriously getting rather tired (as I'm sure you are as well). I'll just type down an extra few deviations in brief. Here goes :

#1 : Felix Felicis, the luck potion, is supposed to be molten gold in colour, not clear/transparent. That's supposed to be veritaserum, the truth potion.

#2 : Harry and Ron did NOT fight for their copies of Advanced Potion Making, it was Professor Slughorn who assigned the books to them. Though I must say, it added some sort of comic relief to the movie so I wouldn't bear too much of a grudge on this one.

#3 : Speaking of Professor Slughorn, he is supposed to have a huge belly and an enormous walrus-like mustache.

#4 : Ron and Hermione squabbled A LOT. This was portrayed rather pathetically in the movie, sad to say, although Emma Watson and Rupert Grint did great jobs acting out their parts.

#5 : Tonks was supposed to be miserable looking, and was supposed to be the one who found Harry in the train compartment after Draco immobilized him and covered him with the Invisibility Cloak, not Luna.

#6 : WHERE THE HELL DID FLEUR AND BILL DISAPPEAR TO, EH?!

And on that scandalized note, I end this terribly long rant. Blimey, I haven't even rated the movie! Okay, here goes. To be fair, it IS a rather interesting watch, what with loads of Draco screen-time young Tom Riddle cool graphics and some comical moments, so if you're aboard the Harry Potter fandom train just based on the movies, I reckon you won't be sorely disappointed. I'd even go so far as to say it rates about an 8/10 BASED ON THE MOVIE ALONE. However, as we should all be clear by now, I am an obsessed devotee to the books, and so I'd have to say, it rates only a 2.5/10 (and that's just for Draco Malfoy and young Tom Riddle).

So there you have it. Thank you for bearing with me for so long and taking the time to read through this whole thing.
